Every Body Midwifery & Health works directly with Canyon Birth Center, located in SW Portland. Canyon Birth Center is located within Canyon Medical Center, a clinic offering primary, pediatric, and midwifery care with Naturopathic Physicians.
We offer two options for birth center birth at Canyon with EBMH, depending on what makes the most sense in your unique situation. If a birth center is the right choice for you, both of these options offer the same attentive, individualized midwifery care that our clients deserve. We offer these choices to make midwifery care as accessible as possible to all of our clients.
Receive care as a client of Every Body Midwifery & Health
- Work with the Every Body Midwifery & Health Midwives throughout your care and for your birth
- Your midwives are on call for you 24/7 in your due window and you get lots of time to get to know the entire birth team
- Prenatal and postpartum visits in your home or in one of our office locations
- Early labor support as needed to help decide when to head to the birth center
- Birth center birth includes access to Canyon's deep birth tubs, round-the-clock postpartum care for 6-48 hrs (depending on the package you choose and your insurance coverage), and the option of nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for pain relief
- Basic billing questions answered during initial consult, but most insurances can be billed out-of-network for all of your care and in-network for the facility fee to use the birth center (Oregon Health Plan can be billed in-network)
Receive care as a client of Canyon Medical Center
- Work with midwife Jaqxun Darlin CPM, LDM and one of Canyon's Naturopathic Midwives throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum
- Prenatal visits and some postpartum visits at Canyon Medical Center with your midwives, (we do in-home postpartum visits for the first week after birth)
- Your midwives rotate a call schedule during your due window, and one of them will attend your birth at Canyon as your primary midwife, with an assistant midwife and 1-2 student midwives for extra support (you have a chance to meet everyone who may be on your birth team during prenatal care)
- Early labor support as needed to help decide when to head to the birth center
- Birth center birth includes access to Canyon's deep birth tubs, round-the-clock postpartum care for 12-48 hrs (depending on the package you choose), and the option of nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for pain relief
- Basic billing questions answered during initial consult, but most insurances can be billed in-network for all of your care
